R. David Seabrook is the Founder and Managing
Partner of Percipient Consulting LLC. He founded the firm after
eight years leading transformational management consulting engagements with Booz Allen & Hamilton and Computer
Sciences Corporation. He is the author of The Three Things that
Matter in Business (forthcoming).
Mr.
Seabrook's projects have bottom-line impact. He led the post-merger integration of all finance and accounting
operations for a $42 billion energy company. He
led a turnaround project for the world's largest underground copper mine,
reducing operating costs by 40% and increasing production 30%. He led a project
that saved $650 million for a global resources company by re-configuring supply
chains and negotiating and implementing new strategic supplier relationships. He developed Booz
Allen's next generation Business Process Re-Engineering methodology, Value
Engineering.
Mr.
Seabrook has extensive marketing experience. As a marketing
executive at Toshiba, he built Toshiba's UK telecommunications
application-specific semiconductor business from zero to $50 million in annual
revenues. As
a consultant he led
the market entry strategy for an Asian venture company investing in Singapore's
newly-deregulated mobile telecommunications market.
His
article The Wireless Internet for Securities Brokers was published in m-Finance
magazine and syndicated on financial news Internet sites. He
developed the marketing strategy for an NYSE-listed software firm. Mr. Seabrook led the complete re-design of the marketing and sales
organization of a leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer, integrating
e-commerce into operating model.
Mr. Seabrook has a strong
information technology background. His digital signal
processing expertise was honed as a systems design engineer at GEC Avionics,
where he developed algorithms for sonar signature recognition and designed custom semiconductor chips
(ASICs) for high-speed
digital signal processing.
Mr. Seabrook's
international experience includes working in the financial
services, computer software, Internet retail, Internet business-to-business, semiconductor,
telecommunications, energy, health care, media and
aerospace industries in the US ,the
UK, Germany, Japan, South East Asia and Australia. He has published
articles on Information Economics and Business
Strategy, Strategic Learning, Change Program Execution, Value Creation and the
Wireless Internet.
Mr. Seabrook holds a
Masters in Business Administration from the London Business School, where he was
top of his class in microeconomics, management accounting and strategic
modeling. He also holds an Honors Degree in Electronics Engineering. His
Honors thesis developed a revolutionary algorithm for speech recognition using
three-dimensional pattern matching. He teaches microeconomics at the State
University of New York at Purchase. Mr. Seabrook is a Member of the American Economic
Association and the Strategic Management Society.
